Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes

We are always on the lookout for inexpensive, fun things to do in our city. Atlanta is home to lots of festivals. Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes is one that was submitted as a Shiny Penny. It takes place the last weekend of April this year. This festival is different than most of the arts festivals because it also includes a Tour of Homes and a parade. The Tour of Home costs $15 and the rest of the festivities are free.

Inman Park is one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods. The Tour of Homes gives you a glance inside some of Atlanta’s most beautiful, historical homes. The houses on the tour always include some of the magnificent Victorian homes that have been renovated to maintain the old charm but modernize for today’s style of living. For more information on this year’s tour homes or to order your tickets online, click here.

The parade, at 2 pm on Saturday, will be some of the best people watching around as “Atlanta’s wild and quirky groups march through the streets of Inman Park.” This picture is my friend, Betsy Johnson, in last year’s parade. There are so many really fun costumes!  To register to march in the parade, click here.

The Trolley Barn has an entire program of classical and contemporary dance. And, of course, the Arts and Crafts Street Market includes over 150 juried selection artists and over 250 vendor booths selling everything from antiques to clothing.

The three stages showcase a variety of bands on Saturday and Sunday. The music ranges from Ska to electronic to classic rock. This page has the list of bands and their bios.

Heads: You don’t want to drive to this festival. There is very limited parking. Instead, walk or bike from the Beltline, take MARTA to the Inman Park station, Lyft/Uber/taxi. Plan to make a day of it and just go with the flow!

Tails: There is a dedicated Kid’s Zone for you to wear your kids out! There are slides, obstacle courses, crafts, and different engaging shows for the kids. Click here to see the schedule for the Kid’s Zone.

Festival Times:

Friday, April 28, 12pm-4pm (Tour of Homes preview only – no booths or other activities)
Saturday, April 29, 11am-6pm
Sunday, April 30, 11am-6pm

Thank you to Betsy Johnson for submitting this Shiny Penny!
