Costco’s Kirkland Sauvignon Blanc

Enjoy a glass of wine after a long day? We do!

We like a really good glass of wine as much as the next person, but for a daily glass of wine to unwind, we are not wine-snobs.

The Kirkland Sauvignon Blanc from Costco was quite a find! You would never know it is a $7 bottle of wine when you taste it. My husband went to Costco to buy some Whitehaven, which is a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that we really enjoy. The Costco employee who worked in the wine section asked him if he had tried the Costco brand wine that costs half the price.

We were pretty skeptical at first, but we unscrewed the top and tried it. It absolutely holds its own compared to any of the other classic New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wines like Matua, Villa Maria, Joel Gott and Whitehaven. It is well balanced, smooth textured, at the same time zesty, and has a lovely citrus (lime/grapefruit) flavor.

Heads: My dad, who IS a wine snob, couldn’t believe how good it was!

Tails: Perfect on a hot summer day. Those days are coming fast!

If you have tried this wine, we would love to hear your thoughts.

I’m personally not a Savignon Blanc fan but perhaps the Chardonnay is good too? I WILL tell you that COSTCO brand vodka is very good! I know some people who have done blind taste tests and it wins. The only negative is the bottle is very tall so it can be a little bit different to store.
