Local Farmers Markets
There is nothing like fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, chef demonstrations and specialty foods. These are a few of my favorite things (yes, I am singing the Sound of Music as I write that).
Most cities and towns have at least one seasonal farmers market. The Atlanta farmers markets generally run from April through November or December.
We wanted to highlight 3 farmers markets that are worth exploring in the Atlanta area. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Peachtree Road Farmers Market: Saturday mornings & Wednesday evenings
This producer-only farmers market only features items grown, raised or made by the producer. There are 50 weekly vendors, live music, chef demonstrations, farm-to-table fresh meals, even local breweries.
The Cathedral of St. Philip: 2744 Peachtree Road, NW • Atlanta, Georgia 30305
Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market: Saturday mornings
Nearly 50 vendors offer fresh, local, and organic produce, pasture-raised meat and pork products, farm fresh eggs and dairy products, and a wide variety of specialty and prepared foods.
Century Springs Office Park: 6100 Lake Forrest Drive, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328
Brookhaven Farmers Market: Saturday mornings
This is a smaller, community-run market creating access to fresh, locally and sustainably grown foods to the Brookhaven and Buford Highway neighborhoods
University Baptist Church: 1375 Fernwood Circle, Brookhaven, Georgia 30319
Heads: Your local farmer’s market is a wonderful way to support your local farmers and vendors as well as get the freshest food possible.
Tails: It is also just a fun way to spend your morning or evening.
Let us know your favorite farmer’s market and why!
